At our last meeting, we earned the inventors patch.
First, we had to get our minds ready by coming up with different ideas to turn these circles into.
The girls had some great ideas.
Next, we had to come up with new ideas for others to repeat in a game.
Next we talked about how women took everyday problems and turned them into inventions!
So then we got to work. Our job was to design a tower to hold books. The girls either had to make their tower be a cylinder, cube, or triangle. Then they had to start stacking books to see how many their towers could hold.
Their next job was to create a boar made out of foil to see how many pennies their boats could hold before sinking.
Then they worked with a partner to design a bridge made out of toothpicks and marshmallows.
Some of the the bridges were not working so we had them design towers instead.
We had fun and learned things on how to invent or take ideas and make them even better!
