Respecting Authority and a Trip to the Dentist Office!

Today we did all kinds of good stuff at our meeting! We read the story of Gerri the Geranium and how it's important to repsect authority.  We learned that you should always follow the rules and listen to parents, teachers, police officers, principals, etc.
But then we had  a little bit of fun....we made a Halloween craft!
We painted baby food jars with liquid startch and orange tissue paper.  We cut our pumpkin faces from black construction paper.

They are drying over night but we have candles to put in them and they will look pretty cool on Halloween night when they are lit.
Mrs. Vershay, our school principal, was supposed to come in and talk to us about her job and following the rules but she couldn't make it so we watched the story of Officer Buckly and Gloria instead.

After that, we met up again at the local pediatric dentist office.  We continued our talk of how we should respect ourselves by taking care of our teeth. We talked about foods that were good and bad for your teeth and how we need to brush and floss.

The girls each got a turn to ride in the dentist chairs.  They were like spaceships and they had so much fun!

We continued our talk about taking care of our teeth and colored a pumpkin with funny-looking teeth. We even sang a song about our teeth!

Thank you Plainfield Pediatric Dentist Office!

We had so much fun and can't wait to use our new toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss pick!
