We've been meeting a lot lately to make up for some lost meeting time due to snow days!
We have Thinking Day coming up. All the troops at our school are getting to together to celebrate. Each troop picks a country and gets to research it, make a poster, share information, make a SWAP, and present a game or story. We chose the country of Norway! The girls learned some neat and interesting facts about it and helped decorate pictures to go with the facts.
Then we showed them a short movie of a folktale from Norway called "The Three Billy Goats Gruff." We are going to do a readers theater of it as part of our presentation.
Mrs. Held hepled get the SWAPS ready and the girls helped make some.
Here is our board that the girls had a part in. We even found some cool information about Girl Scouts in Norway.
Here are what are SWAPS look like. We need to make enough to give to all the scouts coming. This represents important things to Norway the beads on the pin represent the colors of their flag.
Then we had the girls pick some characters from their scripts and practice their reading of the 3 billy goats.
They are excited!
