Geocaching!

At our first meeting, the girls voted on earning the Geocache badge so that's what we did!  First we watched a few short videos on geocaching.  It gave them an introduction to what it really was and how it works.

Then we had to learn some new words in order to be able to do it.  We played a game where they had to sort the words into categories.

Then we spray painted rocks and wrote messages on them to call them "kindness rocks".  We were going to hide them at our next meeting.

Next we took a little hike through the neighborhood in search of geocaches.  We knew one of our scouts was pretty into it with her family and they had hid one by their house so we went to find it.  I showed the girls how to download the app and let them take turns using my phone to navigate us towards it.

We found our first one!

Then we went in search of one near the clubhouse.  The app will let you know if it's still there because you need to log it if you find it.  We searched.

And kept searching.

But we did not find this geocache.

So we headed back and passed out our stuff for selling fall product.
