At our last meeting, we earned our "Making Friends" badge. Even though we are already friends and know each other pretty well, we thought it would be fun since it was Valentine's week and we wanted to give everyone that warm and fuzzy feeling!
We started by writing acrostic poems for everyone. Everyone had their name on a piece of paper and we had to go around and write a word that described each girl.
It went pretty good and the girls were excited to read what everyone wrote.
Next, up we played a game where you make friends. But the catch was that some girls were the "popular" girls and others were the "unpopular" girls. They had different rules to play the game and make new friends. It taught them how it feels to feel left out and what you should do to be a friend to everyone!
Again, we were excited about our poems!
Next up, we did some role playing. There were different scenarios where friends were having disagreements. They had to act out how to solve problems. Some scenarios included not wanted to play the same thing, etc.
Last up, we learned how to make friendship bracelets!
We started with something simple. The girls caught on pretty quick.
They had quite a bit of fun and although we didn't get them finished, we promised to bring them back to school and give them to a friend.
We also wrote a friendship pledge where we promised to be a good friend and everyone signed it!
