This meeting was held on April 8, 2013. Today we worked on earning our yellow petal on bein friendly and helpful. We started the meeting with our Girl Scout promise. The girls had been practicing hard because everyone knew it! We read about Sunny, the flower in the daisy garden and how she was friendly and helpful. We discussed how we could be helpful and friendly to others too. We decided to make coupons that would show we are helpful. We made a list of the board of what we could do at home to be helpful.
Some of the coupons we made included helping with the dishes, helping with the laundry, cleaning a room, helping with a pet, etc. The girls also received little handprints to leave whenever they helped out that said "A daisy was here to help."
Then we had a special visitor from the community come speak to us....
Mr. Vershay, Mrs. Vershay's husband, who is a fire fighter, came to talk to us about how he helps the community.
He told us ways that he helps not only when there are fires, but other ways too. He also talked to us about fire safety and how we can help ourselved be safe.
We made him a thank you card for coming to talk to us.
